Health, happiness and success appear different from one another. Brahmavidya helps to achieve all these. All the three depend upon following the order of life. The laws of life are precise and when we follow these laws our life becomes orderly i.e. Healthy, Happy and Successful
Brahmavidya is a 'Health' oriented method. It is not like a medicine which is meant for a particular ailment. It is a system which helps to remove the root cause of illness and improve health.
Breathing Exercises and Meditation have been found useful to get rid of asthma and other breathing troubles, diabetes, high blood pressure, spondilitis, back ache, heart trouble, chronic cold and cough and many other ailments. The practice also improves mental outlook of the person and makes him more positive, cheerful, optimistic and confident.
Due to better physical and mental health a person can do his daily work more efficiently. This can make him more successful at his job, his business or his profession
Science of living
Brahmavidya is a Science of Life teaching human beings the spiritual laws of life. These Spiritual laws operate in human life through Breath and Thought.
We cannot think of life without Breath and thought. Hence Brahmavidya teachings emphasize on Breathing Exercises and Meditation techniques. Breathing Exercises purify the body where as Meditation purifies the mind.
Modern science tells us about the laws of material universe. Where as Brahmavidya tells us about deeper truths of human life.
All thruth is hidden and if we limit our observation only to the appearance we can never comprehend the truth. Every scientific discovery is a proof that 'appearances are deceptive' e.g. the earth appears quite flat but actually it is round.
How does it work and how is it useful in my daily life?
Brahmavidya teaches that every human being is potentially divine. Hence he has within him all the power required to overcome his difficulties and problems.
Brahmavidya gives a definite method by which a person can overcome his physical and mental problems.
Though we are using Breath and Thought right from our birth, no one has taught us correct way of Breathing or Thinking. You will be surprised to know that an average person uses only 10% of his lung capacity
Brahmavidya teaches (a) Spiritual Breathing Exercises , which improve Breathing and (b) Meditation techniques which improve thinking.
What do I have to do
You need to practise these methods regularly so as to verify the efficacy of these methods by your own personal experience
Depending upon the level of interest and availability of time one can devote more time, but minimum requirement is 20 minutes for Breathing exercises in the morning and 20 minutes for Meditation at night.
Origin
of Brahmavidya
Brahmavidya is a very ancient system of Spiritual Practise or Sadhana. The Practise originated in India, then migrated to Tibet and has now come back to us from Tibet.
Guru Padmasambhava, who was the head of the Department of Yoga and Philosophy, in the internationally popular University of Nalanda, migrated to Tibet foreseeing the destruction of the Nalanda University by foreign invaders 1200 yrs ago. His sacred teachings were closely guarded and were handed over down for generations through a chain of selected disciples to the significantly evolved followers.
During the early years of the 20th century an English gentleman named Edwin John Dingle - a reborn Lama was mysteriously guided and drawn back to Tibet under strange circumstances. After studying these practises in Tibet he went out into the world for teaching these methods. He imparted his teachings to nearly 2,18,000 students all over the world. He was lovingly called as Guru Ding Le mei in Tibet
Guru Jyotirmayananda, a disciple of Guru Ding Le Mei started Brahmavidya classes in Mumbai in 1977. Brahmavidya Sadhak Sangh promoted by his students in 1997 is a Charitable Trust duly registered with the Government. All teachers and volunteers of the trust work with a spirit of SERVICE.
