If you have holistic approach towards understanding life; if you know whole person will mean physical, mental, emotional, as well as spiritual person, if you are looking for an integrative solution for your well-being then there isn’t a better place for you than Brahmavidya.
BrahmavidyaSadhakSangh, acharitable trust registered with Government of India,is dedicated to serving humankind. The organization came into being in the year 1997 to propagate various Brahmavidya methods.
Brahmavidya focuses on the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of the human race. Although Brahmavidyatechniques encourage being more aware in general, they emphasize greatly on being aware of the body’s breathing process.
Why does the process of Brahmavidya attach so much importance to the Breath, especially when we can breathe naturally, and do not have to think about it throughout the day?
This is a question that beginners in this area often ask, and it’s worth asking. Brahmavidya is a lot about awareness of your breath and synchronizing your breath with the movement of your body.
The act of breathing can be either unconscious (involuntary) or conscious, or both.Intentional awareness is when we make an automatic behaviour intentional. This allows us to alter our neurological programming.
But conscious breathing is different—it has a profound effect on our biological, emotional, and physical health.
How does breathing impact you biologically?
The medulla oblongata, the primitive part of our brain, controls our breathing during most of the day. The cerebral cortex, which is the more advanced part of the brain, stimulates when we switch to conscious breathing. The magic happens at this moment! The activation of the cerebral cortex has a relaxing, balancing effect on our emotions.
How does breathing impact you emotionally?
You will notice a reduction in emotional stress and other random thoughts when you tune into your breathing. Your entire system will experience a total reset. Your energy starts flowing freely. This will disrupt any emotional or physical blockages and allow you to be free from all your worries. You will feel a “feel good” factor after taking a breathing session.
How does breathing impact you physically?
Our structural alignment is also affected by our breath. Take the example of yoga. When we are in difficult poses, our natural tendency is to hold our breath and/or use stress-induced breathing (shorter and shallower). This can cause stress and tension in our bodies. However, no matter how difficult a pose is, you should always breathe in a controlled manner, even during long, difficult sequences.
You might be wondering what “the right” way to breathe is. There are many techniques of breathing that Brahmavidya teaches you to correct, amend, or “right” your breathing. By right breathing you will help the mind to calm down.
